The theme of borders is increasingly relevant.
On one hand, territorial boundaries seem to be closing in more and more, rather than connecting.
On the other hand, but still on the same topic, even with web information available almost worldwide, it seems we are becoming increasingly closed off and intolerant—deluded by the limits that surround us.
A wall, in its general conception, solid and impenetrable, represents an obstacle. A blockage to passage. A limit.
A wallpaper that represents a certain environment can serve as an escape from that limit.
A paper wall, in turn, is still an obstacle; however, in this case, fragile and easy to pierce.
This project proposes breaking through limits. Our own, those imposed on us, those unknown, and those that always pursue us. An encouragement to action, to change, to the pursuit of dreams. To creation, even when facing a blank page.
Instructions for the exhibition visitors
1. This exhibition room represents the context you are in — it could be your country or city, the house where you live, your workplace, your family or romantic situation, your mental or emotional state. Basically, your life at this moment.
2. The “room” is divided into 5 spaces. These represent stages or moments. These spaces are separated by wallpaper. They can be seen as obstacles — limits that might be blocking your path, or the path of others besides you.
3. This project encourages breaking through limits, barriers, obstacles, and borders that block and separate us.
With hope, perseverance, and resilience, moving forward, we will break down barriers step by step, stage by stage, escaping this illusion that holds us captive.
4. Walk through the “room” and exit through the other door at the end of the “room”.
Please close the door behind you when you leave.
