LENGALENGA – FRIO
LENGALENGA – FRIO is a music project inspired by traditional Portuguese lengalengas (nursery rhymes).
Popular, rhymed, and repetitive texts passed down through generations, generally linked to everyday life, nature, and fantasy, carrying irony, life lessons, and wisdom.

In music, which is also influenced by the other artistic disciplines, there is likewise the interactive factor – the relation with the audience.
People are essential to the creation of music. Not only as a source of creative inspiration, but also in compositional strategy.
I aim for my music to be accessible to everyone. Through the lyrics and melodies.
Simplicity is constant in the compositions, and the melodies are clear and intelligible. Melodies that stick in your head. Easy to memorize and sing along, they encourage participation and connection, whether at a show or another context, among friends or strangers.
Lengalengas preserve messages that transcend time. The project seeks to bring these messages to the fore, allowing children and adults to discover or rediscover the values of life and the joy of small moments, bridging generations and celebrating the richness of popular tradition in a contemporary way.
I have selected and adapted the lengalengas with which I most closely identify, creating new melodies that retain easy memorability and a popular character, while breaking away from the linearity of traditional tunes.
The aim is to revisit and revalue this gem of popular culture, acting as a contemporary catalyst for interaction and happiness, reaching everyone through simple and harmonious lyrics and melodies, and inspiring all to sing along.
