Cultura de Portas Abertas is a happening with an idle spirit.
It aims to explore the irony of doors that open during a time when doors are closing in culture in Portugal.
The current pandemic has affected and continues to affect culture in Portugal.
As it affects nearly all political and economic sectors, directly or indirectly, the virus also impacts culture.
Investment is focused on other “priorities,” and culture, even more, is deprived of the attention it deserves.
Also, due to factors directly related to the virus and its methods of combat, certain cultural movements, such as those associated with theaters and galleries, end up being weakened.
This generates consequences, from the broader aspects related to the public offering, to those working with the arts and culture.
